Job Description 

Miniclip is currently seeking a to join our Games Development Studio in Lisbon, Portugal. In this role, your primary focus will involve developing visual effects, animations, and implementing UI and in-game assets for our projects. We expect you to have the ability to independently plan, execute, and optimize your assets. However, the ideal candidate will also possess demonstrable experience in establishing art styles for VFX and executing iterations in-engine.

As a VFX artist at Miniclip, you will be also working between our developers and artists and your main function will be to complete the asset integration pipeline, which is to take assets coming from external software suites, import them and assemble them into the development environment of the team (Unity3d). You will play a crucial role in making decisions about the overall look of the game and crafting VFX that enrich visual feedback and player experience.

What will you be doing at Miniclip?

  • Create animations and VFX for in-game and menus within the game engine.
  • Integrate UI menus and game assets into the engine, ensuring technical requirements and performance standards are met.
  • Collaborate closely with artists and developers to optimize art implementation.
  • Design VFX from concept to implementation, including 2D/3D objects for visual effects.
  • Manage VFX resources efficiently and support related areas like UI/2D Animation.
  • Design and implement effects using static and animated elements, from concept to optimization.
  • Create content using Unity3D tools, including shaders, materials, animation controllers, particle systems, timeline sequences, cinematic content, lights, and third- party plugins or internal tools, while ensuring performance.

 

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years of experience as a VFX artist in mobile games or related industries.
• Excellent understanding of stylized 2D/3D VFX.
• Strong skills with Particle Systems.
• Proficiency in game development using engines like Unity, Unreal, or similar.
• Familiarity with Flash (Adobe Animate), Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Spine.
• Basic proficiency in additional skills (2D/3D Art, 3D animation, UI design).
• Some understanding of 2D skeletal animation. • Basic knowledge in Technical Art.
• Fluency in English.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Spine or similar;
• Experience with Blender or similar;
• Knowledge in the development of Shaders/Unity Shader Graph;
• Knowledge on graphics pipeline: shader and effects creation, particles.
